Biotangents (Edinburgh), founded in 2015 and awarded “Best Start-Up of 2020” by IHS Markit Animal Health, are developing diagnostics for infectious diseases of livestock, with first product launches in 2021.
To support our recent commercial success and ongoing product development pipeline we are seeking two research scientists and a laboratory manager to join our team.
Research Scientist (grade II)
Our dynamic working environment will allow you to develop skills in isothermal nucleic acid amplification techniques, RT-qPCR, nucleic acid purification and diagnostic test design and optimisation. Thanks to our multidisciplinary team and the diverse set of challenges you will encounter, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a range of areas outside of your core role, such as project management, manufacturing, collaboration with external partners, writing grant and patent applications, and others. Guidance, support, and the opportunity to develop your skills will be available throughout this process.

Laboratory manager
The successful candidate will be involved in organising, maintaining and ensuring the efficient operation of Biotangents’ fast-paced R&D laboratory and the assay manufacturing suite. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to contribute as part of a team in a dynamic and challenging environment playing a key role in bringing our world class diagnostic products to the customers.
